Personal style and professional presence is something women have wanted to learn how to balance while feeling confident and fresh every day for decades.  How to create that seamless and flawless look we can find on Instagram, Vogue or In-Style.

Many times the assignment is so challenging we resign to the fact that its either office clothing, and weekend wear and never do the two connect.
It’s like we live two lives and is truly hindering our self-expression. The routine of work, family must do’s and simply life, takes up the majority of our time. Leaving not much time for us to tap into what keeps us motivated, or feeling confident, personally.

During the time of COVID-19 we are distancing to stay safe and this has assigned many of us to work from home. We are having team meetings and Zoom gatherings to continue to work and keep progress going and enjoying social connections alike.

With this change, how we operating in the current has affected some people and how they are showing up. According to reports some are choosing to attend online meetings “unkept and inappropriate”.

According to the Insider article a Florida Judge pleaded with lawyers to “get out of bed and put on clothes for our ZOOM meetings.”

It appears, a woman, attended a meeting while still in her bed under the covers. And a man attended another meeting with his shirt off. Not showing up for ourselves first can affect our credibility online or off.

Is there any simpler way to add style and flair to your outfit?

In a word, no.

Accessories can include:

  • Hair bows and headbands
  • Jewelry such as necklaces and bracelets
  • Scarves and ascots
  • Belts
  • Shoes
  • And even funky socks!

You’d be surprised how a chunky statement necklace, scarf or belt, can completely transform a basic outfit.

The Fabric of Our Lives

Fabric plays a key role in personal style preferences and there are various textures and price-points to choose from. For example, non-biodegradable clothes are manufactured synthetic textiles such as polyester, spandex, nylon, and rayon.  Some fabrics are biodegradable, such as cotton, silk, hemp and linen to name a few and are long lasting. Choosing timeless fabrics extends the life of your clothing helping you create a nicely curated wardrobe that speaks to and for you. Mixing fabrics creates degrees of your mood and personality such as pairing:
A cotton tee with denim capris, a silk blouse with a suede jacket and leather boots.

And, you can mix fabrics up a little more in unexpected ways such as tweed, linen, and velvet.

The key to a curated wardrobe you love is by identifying “your” right balance.

A look that is interesting, yet contrasting; not polarizing, boring, or more of the same.

Ultimately, identifying your personal style is your calling card to yourself and the world.  Paint a picture that inspires you and others day-to-day by spending a little time exploring what makes you feel good and confident every day.
